Rivers | Lochs | Reservoirs

Inverness-shire

River Garry

Upper river, salmon, sea trout and good brown trout, day tickets from Tomdoun Hotel, 01805 511218.

Spey

There are fantastic trout on the Spey however below Aviemore you will have to shell out for a salmon ticket which makes the cost prohibitive, but if you are salmon fishing take a trout rod with you in May and June with a dry rough olive, Greenwell or a Yellow Sally, you will not regret it.

I must say it is about time that the Spey climbed down from it's high horse when it comes to reasonable access for trout fishing. Yeah the Spey does deserve to be protected but I thought that the protection came with the proviso that all anglers would have reasonable access, I don't call having to buy a salmon ticket reasonable.

Alvie Estate,

Aviemore Fishings,
