Nairnshire

Lochindorb a popular location for a day out on this beautiful and atmospheric loch with its island castle, the Wolf of Badenoch's Lair'. Fishing from the bank is free of charge for small but hard fighting wild brown trout (and the occasional salmon) on this historic loch high in the moor lands between Grantown on Spey and Nairn. Traditional flies work well especially something black with a red tag, Bibios are particularly good. Boats can be hired from the the Lodge but be careful this is a shallow loch in places and you can find yourself running aground in the middle of the loch! Look for these shallow ridges though, there are good drifts around them. Oh, get some Skin So Soft, the midges can be horrid! For boat bookings call 01386 610496.
