Lakes
Llyn Carnguwch a 2 acre fishery within Organig Parc offering fly fishing on a lake designed with disabled persons in mind having made paths and platforms along the north shore. Permits cost £28 for 4 fish with C & R after the limit is reached. Call 01758 75000, permits from the Parc reception.
Llyn Trawsfynydd a 1200 natural lake in the Snowdonia national park offering extensive fishing for wild brown trout, rainbows and blues (the lake also has a good population of rudd, perch, pike, large eels and grass carp). Permits from the newsagents in Trawsfynydd, call 01766 540234 cost £12 per for an adult and £6 for an under 18, boats cost £30 for two anglers or £26 for a single.
Tayllyn a renowned shallow 220 acre lake in the Snowdonia National Park offering fishing for wild brown trout (supplemented by stock fish) with grilse salmon, and sea trout arriving in the summer. There are 14 boats plus 2 wheelyboats. Permits from the Tynycornel Hotel. Call 01654 782284, cost £18 per day (4 fish then C & R) and boats cost £20, you can hire afloat tube for £10. (they also have fishing on a remote hill loch Bugeulyn which is 30 acres holding wild brown trout, permits £10 and there is one boat which will cost £10; also available is fishing in the river Dysynni at £8 per day)
Rivers
Glaslyn, salmon, sea trout and brown trout on this short 14 mile river managed by the Glaslyn AA. Very much on the up and up after a period when forestation and acidification endangered the river. The fishing is double bank, any legal method and day permits cost £17.50 for an adult and £8.25 for under 18s, all salmon to be returned until 16th of June.
