Ballencrieff Fishery, a new fishery near Bathgate, follow that A792 to Torphicen, turn right at the war memorial for 1 mile. 2 lochs, Loch Roan is 4 acres, Helee Pond two acres both consisting of mixed deeps, sandy shallows and islands offering a good fishing environment, stocked with rainbows and brown trout to 20lbs. There is a lodge selling snacks, drinks and tackle. 4 hours C & R £8 to £14 for 8 hours and 4hrs 2 fish + C & R £16 t £25 for 8 hours + C & R. Call 01506 630808.

Pottishaw Fly Fishery near Whitburn West Lothian. A 7 acre loch stocked with quality brown and rainbow trout ranging from 2 to 20lbs. Brown trout must be returned. Fishing is from the bank and from boats. The boats are available at no extra cost but as there are limited number of boats it would be best to call ahead and book one. The fishery is open 7 days a week from 6am to dusk, permits are £22 for a full day for four fish with C & R thereafter. A sporting ticket is £15 for 8 hours.
