Kilchoan Estate in Knoydart offer salmon and sea trout fishing on the river Inverie, a small spate river flowing from its source in Loch Dubhlochan for 4 miles into Loch Nevis. Fly only, single handed rods traditional flies, except during a spate and catch and release for salmon and sea trout. The river is on the up and up after a 5 year programme of restocking with fingerling fly.16 named pools with the deep Long pool favoured in low water. Sea trout start in June, grilse follow late June into July. Salmon runs are very much dependent on spates. Permits from Kilchoan estate include Loch Dubhlochna which holds trout, char and ferox, cost £50 per day £200 per week. Call 01687 462724.

Laggan
Drumlossit Estate have fishing on the Upper Laggan, call 01496 810232 and Laggan Estate have the lower 5 miles of the river beats, call 01496 810212.
Stornoway Angling Association, salmon and sea trout on rivers and lochs in the area. Day tickets available, senior £12 plus (£5 refundable deposit when you make your catch return), junior and evening £10 plus deposit. There is good sea trout fishing in the sea and sea lochs and float tubing is popular, but do not float tube alone in the sea. Portree Angling Association have a selection of rivers and lochs in west central Skye offering wild brown trout fish and fishing for salmon and sea trout on a number of spate rivers. The rivers are the Ose, fly only, mostly sea trout, which is best after a spate down near the sea end, the Kilmaluig River where you can fish fly, spinner or bait and the rivers Lealt, Kilmartin and Brodgaig. Uig Area Gordon Mackenzie at the Uig filling Station has permits for fishing on Loch Mor and for the rivers Rha. Conon and Hinnisdale. About £8 for the loch and £12 for the rivers which are spate rivers with some salmon and sea trout after a spate. The Conon is rated for trout. call 01470 542420.
