Back to the A to Z of Salmon Rivers

Earn | Eden | Endrick | Ericht | Esk (Border) | Esk (North) | Esk (South) | Ettive | Ettrick | Evelix

Eden

Eden Angling Association salmon run from July onwards building until October. Sea trout can be taken in the lower river especially around the tidal stretches below Dairsie. There are a number of dams on the river as I recall though they may have been removed, a factor that affects salmon runs. All are passable with a good spate. Visitor permits £8 for a day, £12 for October. Contact ian.young17@btopenworld.com or call 01334 654333 / 656383.

Morphie, Logie and Canterland weeks and part weeks available on this first class water on the lower N Esk. A pair of weirs and a fish counter act to hold fish up a bit in lower water. Morphie Dyke in it's day used to hold back hundreds of fish but it has been modified to allow salmon to move through more easily.

I fished Canterland many times in the 1990's, great spring water in the run where to the power line crosses the river at the car park. A bit dearer now I guess, it was a tenner a day then. Contact Amber Agriculture, Simon Pass on 01246 590393.
