Earith Lakes Trout Fishery, near Huntingdon. 2 former gravel pits of 16 and 18 acres offering clear water fishing for rainbows, brown trout, blues and goldens. The average stock size is 2lb with records standing at an imressive 27lb 12ozs for rainbows, 8lbs for brown trout 12lbs for blues and 9lbs for goldens. Call 01487 840225.
Ravensthorpe, a 100 acre fishery with a reputation for excellent trouting (biggest this year over 14lb) and pike to 42 lbs last year (playing a good rainbow here could almost constitute live baiting when there are pike that size about!). Permits 01604 781350.

Lockwood Beck near Guisborough, North Yorkshire. Premier award winning fishery of 60 acres offering fishing from bank and rowing boat (bring your own electric motor) in and area of great natural beauty set within mature woodland. Fishing is from 8am to 1 hour after sunset using barbless hooks only. The lake is stocked weekly with rainbows, brown trout and blues (also some wild browns) of 1.5lbs to double figures The average weight to May this season was 2.75lbs with an average bag of 2.6 fish per rod. Best rainbow 13lbs, brown 6lbs. Best flies; Lures - Dawson's Nomad, Black Nomad, Cats Whisker, Blob Nymphs; Pheasant Tail, Black and Orange Buzzer, GRHE, damsel and best Dry Flies - Hawthorns, CDC Shuttlecock, CDC Shipman's, Daddies. Permits cost £20 per day for 4 fish (then C & R) or £16 for an evening (3 fish). There are season deals starting at £200 for 20 fish or 25 visits to £600 for 100 fish and unlimited catch and release, concessions are available and there is a Wheely boat for disabled anglers. Westcountry River Trust offer inexpensive access to 39 beats on the rivers of Cornwall and Devon using an online token system. Rivers include the Camel, Tamar, Taw, Torridge, Fal. Colliford near Liskeard. Premier brown trout fishery maintaining a low cost ticket policy for traditional fishing with small flies for fish that are commonly up to 1.5lbs. Bank only, permits from the Jamaca Inn call 01566 86250, £11 per day. Best flies Hairs Ear, Sedges.
Crowdy near Davidstow. Water activity restricted to angling on this 115 acre lake which hold wild brownies and rainbows. Tickets from the Spar shop in Camelford.
Drift Reservoir near Penzance offers fly only fishing on a 65 acre lake for wild browns and rainbows. day tickets from the warden or from terry Shoreland, call 01736 63869.
Fenwick Trout Fishery at Dunmere, Bodmin. Fishing all year, call 01280 78296.
Lower Tamar Lake stocked with brown trout and rainbow trout by South West Water. Tickets can be bought from machines by the lake or you can call the Ranger on 01288 312262 for more information.

Siblyback near Liskeard, 140 acre lake with rainbow trout to 8lb. 6 boats booked in advance call 01579 346522, average bag 3.43 fish, permits £19 per day.
Stithians Lake 274 acre lake near Redruth stocked regularly with rainbow averaging 1.25 lbs, average bag 2.93 fish, boats available booked in advance call 01209 860301. Permits on site at £13.50.
Bessy Beck is a great location for a day out for the serious angler and for the family offering fishing on three lakes: Island Lake, 2.5 acres stocked with rainbows, blues and brown trout mostly in the range 2 to 5lbs but there is also a good head of fish in the 10 to 12lb range. Fishing is fly only. Mallard Lake is a smaller fly fishing water, 1.5 acres, stocked with smaller fish in the 1.25 to 2lb range. Heron Lake is a bait and spinning water stocked with fish in the .75 to 1.5lb range, a great venue for children as the stocking levels are kept high. Facilities for anglers with disabilities. Esthwaite Water Trout Fishery, a glacial lake stocked with rainbows and brown trout. Fishing is from bank or boat, fly only in the North Basin and any method - fly, spinning, worm in the South Basin. Best rainbow 16lb 3oz, best brown 10lb 3oz. There is also a good population of pike with a best fish of 39lb 8ozs! Call 015394 36541.
Lough Trout Fishery near Thrustonfield. A stream fed fishery in a beautiful setting stocked with rainbow and brown trout, Boat fishing only including a wheelie boat. Call 01228 76552.
