Birkwood Farm Lakes, Stanley near Wakefield, consists of 4 lakes opened just over 10 years ago. In 2007 a section of the river Calder was added to to the attraction. The fours lakes are Main and Froghall plus Emily's and Oscar's which are canal style lakes. Stocked with carp, silver fish, rudd and roach and holding some quality bream to double figures. Cellars Clough, Slaithwaite near Hudersfield. Two ponds, one about half an acre the other larger at 3.5acres. There are some very large carp, pike and bream plus perch, roach and some wild brown trout. Day tickets from the water bailiff, call 07833 552467.
Highfields Fishery, Elmet. Pleasant lake fringed on one side by mature tree with 35 pegs, 5 of which are designated for anglers with disabilities. Stocked with rudd, roach, perch, chub, orfe and carp. Tickets can be bought on site or in advance from Bob's Tackle Shop on Garforth, call 0113 2867112.
Slake Hill Fishery, Heights Lane, Silsden, Keighley. Recently opened, Slake Hill is stocked with a good variety of fish including carp, roach, bream, golden rudd and tench. Nothing big at present as fish grow on but certainly one for the near future as the location is particularly attractive. Call 01535 653518 for further information.
Wykeham Lakes, N Yorkshire on the edge of the Dales. A mixed trout and course fishery on 5 gravel pits. There are 3 course fishing lakes holding a good general mix of fish plus good carp and specimen pike. Call 01723 863148 for more information.
