Staffordshire

Baden Hall Fishery, Eccleshall, consists of 8 ponds totalling over 30 acres holding some exceptional carp in the 30lb plus range, there are also big bream and tench. There is a specimen pool where a fish of just a few ounces short of 40lb was caught. There also bream and roach. Permits from the fishing lodge or from coin operated machine. Fishwick Lakes, Litchfield, consists of 7 lakes stocked with coarse fish and trout. The trout lakes holds rainbows, blues and brown trout to double figures while the coarse fish lakes have carp, roach, skimmers and bream. There is a specimen lake with quality carp and some big tench. Call 01543 433606

Stoppos Fishery, Lullington, members only but £30 for the year isn't bad fishing for some decent carp to double figures. Some decent roach too. Call 07971 854104

Surrey

Beaver Fishery, Lingfield, is a 10 pool fishery including 2 specimen pools with carp to over 45lbs and catfish to over 70lbs, so make sure you have tough tackle. They also have a short stretch of the river Eden which holds big pike. Good vehicle access to the pools, a boon on a such a large site. Snipe Lake has the real big stuff, carp and cats while Tuscany is no laggard with big carp and cats too.
