Bentley Fishery, set in a mature wooded estate this 3 acre fishery on the A128 between Brentwood and Ongar offers excellent fishing (adults over 16's only) for quality carp including commons to 29lb and cracking good mirrors. Churchgate Lakes is a top notch fishery consisting of 3 lakes set in beautiful surroundings. Well stocked with a variety of fish. The 3 lakes are: Top Lake: with 500 double figure carp and bream to 10lbs. Bottom Lake: stocked with carp, tench, roach, rudd, perch, skimmers and ide. Middle is a specimen lake for members which holds carp averaging 16lb and catfish 40lbs. Excellent facilities in including a bar. Call 07798 902315

Chigboro Lakes near Maldon consists of 4 lakes, the 12 acre May Water; Heybridge mere with common, mirror and crucian carp, bream, roach, rudd, perch; Chigboro Masters with carp, roach, rudd, perch and Scraley Mere. For bookings call 01621 857368

Lake John 2 lakes holding raoch, bream, perch, rudd, chubblets, gudgeon and a variety of carp. Ther are 5 swims for disabled anglers. A full day ticket for 2 rods is £14, there are also concessions available. For club bookings call 0795 8938152

Stanford Fishery, Stanford le Hope, is a 7 acre Cemex fishery recently developed and promising some very heavy bags of fish. Carp to over 20lbs, bream over 5lbs, tench 4lb plus, fishing two rods and open all year. Tickets must be bought in advance, just call 01375 676739
