Lammas Meadow, St Neots, run by St Neots Angling Society who offer great value fishing in the river Great Ouse, the Pocket Park Marina and Wilden Reservoir. Good bream. Cambridge Fish Preservation Society have fishing on Cambridge Sports Lake and Milton Country Park. Great value at £25 pa for 2008/09 or £4 per day in advance. Call 01223 234616. The Society have other fishing available including Barnwell Pits, Block Fen Lake, Barrow Pit and on the river Cam from the Penny Ferry pub to Clayhithe Bridge (the course season applies to the river Cam)

Cambridge Albion Angling Society offer 36 miles of river fishing on the Cam for just £20 per year or £4 per day. Tickets from local fishing tackle shops

Cheshire

Cheshire Fishing 5 pools, part of a mixed course game fishery complex near Tattenhall, near Chester. Well stocked with common, mirror, crucian and ghost carp, roach, bream, tench, golden tench, barbell, rudd, chub and golden orfe. Ticket from £7 per day dawn until dusk, call 01829 770041

Roman Lake, Marple nr Chester, a 10 acre lake and 'canal' complex in a wooded valley. Holds good stocks of carp (30lbs+), pike (20lb+), bream, perch, roach, tench. Call 0161 4272039

Cornwall

Argal and College Reservoir nr Falmouth. A 38 acre reservoir with quality carp to over 30lbs plus perch, pike, bream and tench. Open 24 hours all year. Call 01579 342366

Bolingey Lake, near Perranporth. Is a 4 acre fishery holding carp, tench, roach, perch and eels fishing from dawn to dusk fishing all year. Call 01872 572388

Millbrook Lakenr Torpoint, An old reservoir on the Rame Peninsula offering quality fishing in a place of great natural beauty. Cumbria

Buttermere run by the National Trust offers fishing for pike and perch. There are two rowing boats for hire. Permits from Mr and Mrs Parker, dalegarth, call 017687 70233

Carlisle and District Coarse Angling Club have a number of locations on the river Eden offering quality chub to over 7lbs, grayling over 2lbs, dace, perch and pike to over 20lbs. They also have access to fisheries with 20lb + carp, bream, perch, pike, roach, rudd and tench and wild fishing on the lakes and tarns of the area

Talkin Tarn offers fishing for pike in the 20lb plus class as well as perch up to 4lb (must be a British record fish about)
