Fishing for brown trout on the Ettrick and Yarrow (catch and release only) as well as fishing for rainbows on the Lindean Reservoir (boat only, 2 boats available. There is salmon fishing on the Ettrick, double bank. Permits from Rodgersons Newsagents, 6 High St, Selkirk, call 01750 20749.

 

Shetland Angling Association

 

Access to fishing on the island with boats on the most popular lochs fishing for brown trout and sea trout. Shetland has a reputation for producing some very good quality trout in its over 300 lochs. Club membership is £20 per year with a further cost of £20 per year for the use of boats. Visitor tickets are available. Permits from Shetland Island Tourism or Rod and Line tackle shop in Lerwick or from the Association club room open Tuesdays and Thursday at 9 Burns Lane, Lerwick. St Boswell AC

 

St Boswells and Newtown District AA have

 trout fishing on the Tweed form Monksford to Littledean on the South Bank and Dryburgh to Dalcove  Burn on the North Bank.

St Johns Loch Angling Improvement Association

 

St Johns Loch stocked with indigenous trout, this is one of the famed Caithness alkaline lochs with a marl bottom. The most northerly mayfly hatch occurs in June when fishing can be excellent. Boat and bank fishing, there is a wheelie boat available. Prime condition wild fish up to 4 and 5 lbs are common. 4 boats available, permits from the Northern Sands Hotel, call 01845 851270 or from Hugo Ross Fishing tackle, Wick call 01955 851270 (both bank and float tube permits are available). St Winnoch AC

 

Established in 1927 the St Winnoch club has several fishing location around Lochwinnoch including Castle Semple Loch,Barr Loch, the river Calder, Dubbs and Millbank Burn and Queenside Loch. Contact Tom Sprought club secretary on 01505 842186 or email info@LochwinnochAC.net

 

Stanley District Angling Club

 

Fishing on several beats of the river Tay; Benchhill, 1.25 miles right bank, Luncarty 1.33 miles right bank, Taymouth right bank from Ballathie to Linn Pool, Meikleour left bank March Pool to Islamouth right bank March to Kinclaven railway bridge, Upper Redgorton. Stormont AC

 

3 beats on the Tay, Willowgate, Rome Croy, Muirton fishing for salmon, sea trout, brown trout, grayling and course fish. Membership open to non locals (who have priority). Strathgryfe AC

 

Brown trout and grayling fishing permits for the river Gryfe in Ayrshire from Blackwood Butchers, 15 St James Terrace, Kilmacolm, The Cross Café, The Cross, Kilmacolm. £3 pd. Treasurer James Orr, Treasurer (Membership Secretary), High Woodland, Old Greenock Rd, Kilmarnock, PA13 4TF.

 

Strathspey Angling Improvement Association

 

The Grantown Association water is legendary for the quality of the fishing available over 6 miles of double bank on the Spey and 12 miles double bank on the Dulnain. Visitor permits are available to persons staying temporarily in Grantown, Cromdale, Dulnain Bridge, Nethybridge, Duthil or Carrbridge. Day and week permits (week permits are issued for an 8 day period giving a full seven days fishing, there is no Sunday fishing allowed) cost: £45 per day, £185 per week: juniors (under 16yo) £15 per day or per week; youth (16 to 20yo) £100, week permit only. Day permit holders do not have access to the Upper Castle Grant beat. Season visitors permits available at £565 for the year.

Stonehaven and District Angling Club

 

Fishing on the Cowie, Carron and Bervie (not well regarded at this time). Visitor tickets are available from May to September fishing from the railway viaduct to the sea. Permits from DFS in Stonehaven.

 

Stornoway Angling Association

 

Salmon, sea trout, brown trout and char (char lochs only) on rivers and lochs in the area. Day tickets available, senior £12 plus (£5 refundable deposit when you make your catch return), junior and evening £10 plus deposit. There is good sea trout fishing in the sea and sea lochs.
