Baldarroch near Murthly offers day lets for up to 3 rods on this lower middle river beat situated just above the Islamouth and Meikleour beats. The beat have a ghillie, boat and a good fishing hut. Permits from Country Pursuits cost approx £50 Jan - March and £100 Sept, call Country Pursuits on 01786 834495. Dalguise, 2 miles downstream from the junction of the Tay and Tummel this beat offers 1.25 miles of double bank fishing which accounted for 150 fish in 2006. There are six bank rods available at reasonable prices (from £22 per day) and a boat is available for harling at no extra cost. There is a full time ghillie, Stan Perc. The beat has 9 named pools offering fishing in most water conditions. While fish enter the river all year round the best spring fishing is in April and May with grilse arriving from June peaking in July and August and accompanied by some large summer salmon. excellent fly fishing beat, call
01453 832291 for information and beat availability. Pitnacree / Banabeggan near Grandtully consists of .75 miles double bank and .25 miles single bank just below the bridge at Grandtully. The rapids immediately above the bridge represent a significant barrier to running fish resulting in numbers of fish building up on the beat. There are 7 named pools allowing fly fishing, spinning and bait fishing. Best spring fishing is in April to May with September and October having excellent back end run fishing.
