Located in mixed forest and farm land the beat is god fly fishing
water with steamy pools and runs. Best flies include Willie Gunn,
Hairy Mary, Ally Shrimp and Munroes. 5 year average is 161 salmon
and with good sea trout in May and June. Best for salmon March,
April and May. Day and
Carlogie, extends to 1.7 miles on the south bank of the Dee from Long Haugh to Boat of Kincardine, three rods. The 5 year average for salmon is 147 fish, best in May and June, the sea trout fishing is best in May and June also. 16 named pools, good streamy fly fishing water with vehicle access to all pools. Commonty, extends to 1.5 miles south bank with 15 named pools, 3 huts from Ballogie beat down to Upper Blackhall. 5 year average 53 fish best March, April and May, sea trout best April, May and June. Deecastle Beat 3.2 miles of fishing on classic Dee fly fishing water with 22 named pools. Fishing is double bank in spring in a shared fishing agreement with the Dinnet beat and single bank for the rest of the year. The fishing is good throughout the season. Kincardine near Kincardine O'Neil offers 1 mile for 3 rods fishing catch and release for salmon and every second fish for sea trout (you get a bottle of whisky to compensate for having to put the salmon back) Fishing is fly only and why not as this is classic fly water. Best months May and June. There is a ghillie. Prices range from £275 to £800 per week and full and half day rods may be available. Call 01339 884225 for further information and bookings.

Banchory consists of half a mile south bank for 2 two rods. The beat
includes Lower Floating Bank, Island
Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo. 4 rods available on Little Blackhall early season and 3 rods on Inchmarlo on this beat located just above Banchory Bridge including Roe Pot and the left bank of Kineskie. The water fishes best in high water but can be food in lower water conditions. The beat encourages catch and release in line with the Dee Policy. There is a good fishing hut, boat and ghillie. 6 year average for Little Blackhall 69 salmon and 22 sea trout, 66 salmon and 19 sea trout for Inchmarlo. Call 01306 883232 or 013398 84041.
