Fishing Finder where to Fish Directory Index pageFishing Finder Where to Fish Directory

The major source for day ticket fishing in Scotland and the UK, all you need to find a great days fishing, just click on one of the links above to take you to hundreds of places where you can fish for salmon, trout, grayling, pike .........

Spinfish Online Magazine aims to take you to the very best of fishing in Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom so we have developed an extensive directory of places to fish with hundreds of contacts for fishing in some of the most excellent places. While Spinfish is unashamedly focused on fly fishing for game fish we have ensured that the directory provides anglers of every stripe with opportunities to fish throughout Scotland so the directory not only includes fishing for salmon, sea trout and wild brown trout in also includes angling for pike and perch, Arctic char, grayling and course fish. On top of that there are loads of contacts for trout fisheries, sea angling and for fishing on our many angling club and town waters.

This directory will be large, lets face it with thousands of lochs on our door step in Scotland  (25,000 acres of lochs around Scourie alone) it cannot be anything less than big to do justice to the range of Scottish fishing possibilities. We have the big lochs like Tay, Earn, Ness, Rannoch and Loch Awe, aptly named for the trout there are truly awesome with a succession of British record trout landed in recent years all wild or at the very least none too happy about being caught. Fish in excess of 30lbs, bigger and better than anything you will see in a fishery and I am not knocking fisheries. We have some excellent fisheries throughout the country offering great angling for young and old alike. Then there are the trout rivers, the Don in Aberdeenshire must rate among the best in the world. A beautiful river which produces high single figure fishWhiteadder AA notice board of exceptional quality, wild, tough, hard fighting and the new rules requiring all fish above 3lbs to be returned means that they are all still there. There is great trouting on the Tay, Tweed and Clyde and what about the wee Aberdeenshire gem the Isla which produced a fish of over 10lbs to the fly! Lochs, we have lochs, some so magical that even through you may only catch trout at 4 to the pound your day will be memorable. There are off course the Durness limestone lochs where large wild brown trout come to the mayfly or the hill lochs each of differing character one full of fingerings the other holding a few whoppers. Then there are Arctic char in many of the lochs, the presence of which ensures that there will be ferox, those large cannibal trout of the deep glacial formed lochs.

For the course angler and fly fisherman there are fantastic opportunities to take grayling and pike. Pike fishing in Scotland is second to none with monsters coming from Loch Lomond. There is varied and excellent course fishing throughout the borders and central Scotland and as for sea fishing we have a fantastic variety including massive skate, halibut, tuna, sharks and cod and - well the list goes on and on. Widening the scope of things we have begun the Fishing Finder where to fish directory for trout and salmon in England so we are not afraid of a challenge.

Fishing Finder will be your one stop shop for where to fish, its easy to navigate and chock full of information whether your looking for a day out fishing or a fishing holiday. Just to round things off we have prepared an Angling Guide to Golf  just in case you need a break from landing all of those fish. Tight lines folks

If you do one thing this year you should learn to Spey cast with a single handed or double handed, it will change your angling life, for further information email Alistair Huskie at huskie@spinfish.co.uk
